Obituary of William Stieb

STIEB- Mr. William Stieb, age 81, late of Leask, passed away in Wheatland Lodge Care Home on Sunday, June 19, 2011. Bill was born on June 12, 1930 in the Brightholme District, and upon completing school, worked in the mines in British Columbia. He returned to Saskatchewan to farm, and married Bernice Stefanich in 1952. He was involved in Community Pasture during the time when exotic cattle breeds were coming to Saskatchewan. Bill had an interest in flying, and every fall went on a moose hunting excursion. He also enjoyed fishing by the river near the Wingard ferry, sitting in his chair and waiting for the big one. Bill leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Bernice Stieb of Leask; his children, Maurice (Beatrice) Stieb of Leask, Kim Stieb in Missouri, USA; his grandchildren, Justin Stieb (Crystal St. Germain) of Prince Albert and children Madison, McKenzie and Kadence, Angela Stieb of Leask and her daughter Sienna, Renae (Mike) Mardell of Prince Albert and their son Logan, Desaree Larson of Saskatoon, Lacy Larson of Saskatoon, Bradley Larson of Saskatoon; a brother Richard (Viola) Stieb of Prince Albert; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Suzanna (nee: Kriese) in 1997; his father, Alfonse Stieb in 1952; a sister, Eleanor (Bill) Simonson; three brothers in infancy; his stepfather, Adolf Kriese. The Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church in Leask on Friday, June 24 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Fr. Anthony Pangan as celebrant. The pallbearers were John Stieb, Robert Stieb, Leo Stieb, Bruce Stieb, Roy Stieb, Mervin Stieb. The eulogy was given by Richard Stieb. The organist was Mary Stocker and the soloist was Desaree Larson. The readers were Lacy Larson and Angela Stieb. Memorial donations may be made to the choice of the donor. Interment was in Leask Cemetery.
