Obituary of Lloyd William Brewer

Lloyd William Brewer November 17th, 1928 – November 18th, 2013 Lloyd was born to Sidney and Nellie in the Shell Lake area where he lived his entire life. Lloyd was a farmer in every sense, his love of the farm had him heading out there even on days when he should have been resting, his aches never hurt as much when he was on the farm. He farmed in the Heart of Wheat area, raising grain and cattle. On a snowy day in October of 1961 Lloyd married the love of his life, Fay Reed, a local girl who was teaching in Shell Lake. Their family grew along with the farm, with the birth of their two children; Wanda and Brent, and then with his grandchildren; Megan, Devin, Kaitlyn, Kennadi and Kyle. Lloyd’s love of farming was passed on to his kids and the farm became a joint venture. The farm, so much more than just a farm, Lloyd and his family also loved riding horses, the eventful cow chasing days, the animals, and the dogs – who were like family, and so much more that only the farm life offers. Lloyd’s family; his wife, his children and grandchildren were his first and fore-most love. Lloyd also had a strong faith, his love of God always present, and his Bible always close. All his life Lloyd was very active in sports; loving fastball, baseball and slowpitch. Hockey was another of his favorite sports, playing regular, recreational and old timers hockey, curling, golfing and pool as well. The sports Lloyd took part in were played with a deep passion and enthusiasm that he has passed on to his kids and grandchildren. Special memories were made, friendships and camaraderie was enjoyed as they travelled with these sports. Lloyd was a very active community member; as a school bus driver, on the school board, a Legion member, Lion’s member, 4-H Leader, coached ball, a board member on the Pasture Board, Church Board, Park Board, and on Village Council and as well a Seniors Club member.
