Obituary of Hélène Alberta Kendel

Hélène Alberta Kendel, (née Dupuis), age 84, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 1, 2013. Hélène was born in Hoey, SK on July 5, 1929. Known to many as Mrs. Kendel and Madame Kendel, Hélène has touched many lives in the Shellbrook community. Hélène is survived by her son, Pat (Pam) Kendel, and children Stephanie, Heather, Tristan, and Zachary Kendel; her son Rob Kendel; her son Ralph (Carmen) Kendel and children Zoe, Nathan and Nolan Kendel; her daughter Maureen (Ron) Herzog and children Chelsey, Alyssa, Brigitte, and Bryce Herzog; her daughter Terri-Ann (Duane) Storey and children Cole, Tyler, and Emma Storey; her grandchildren (Gerry’s children) Ashley (Shane) Doell and their son, Easton, and Brooks Kendel; Hélène is also survived by her siblings, extended family members, and her dear friend and caregiver, Teresita Tismo. She was predeceased by her husband, George Kendel, her eldest son, Gerald Kendel, and her sister, Denise Provencher. A Celebration of Hélène’s life was held at St. Agatha’s Roman Catholic Church in Shellbrook, SK, with a Prayer Service on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 7:30 pm and the Funeral Mass on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 10:30 am, with Celebrant Father Tru Lee. Interment followed at Foxdale Cemetery. In lieu of tributes, donations in memory of Hélène may be made to the Shellbrook Integrated Health Facility- Furnishings or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
