Obituary of Edward Roy Nielsen

Edward Roy Nielsen 1937- 2013 Ed passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 20, 2013 at his home. He was born April 27, 1937, the chosen son of Henry and Mitte Nielsen. Ed was raised in the Redvers area. In 1961 he married the love of his life Mae Jensen, together they welcomed 6 children into their lives. During their marriage they spent time on the Trapeline, in LaRonge, Redvers, and finally retiring to the White Star district only 5 years ago. Ed was known for his work as a gun smith. He had a love for life, he enjoyed visiting with friends but most important to him was his family. Ed is survived by his wife of 52 years Mae; his children Mike (Norma), Lyle (Vicki), Darlene (Maurice) Bourassa, Lloyd (Suzie), Natalie (Todd) Thompson, Holly (Dave Bye); his 25 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Ed was predeceased by his daughter Kathy; his granddaughter Candice; grandson in infancy, and his parents Henry and Mitte Nielsen. A Private Family Service will be held. In lieu of other tributes memorial donations may be directed to the Canadian Diabetes Association 104-2301 Ave C N, Saskatoon, SK S7L 5X5.
