Obituary of Doris Casavant

It is with great sadness that the Casavant family announces the passing of their mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Doris Lillian (nee Vandale) on October 8, 2006 at the age of 77. She was predeceased by her husband Paul Casavant in 1985, her infant son Albert Casavant, her parents Albert and Aime Vandale, her brothers Billy Vandale and Robert Vandale and her sister Irene Woods. She will be remembered and sadly missed by her sons and daughters Paulette Denis (William Tyndall) of Chitek Lake, SK, Leonard (Phyllis Biden) of Saskatoon, SK, Morris (Violet Stafford) of Moose Jaw, SK and Marie Horn of Leoville, SK; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. She was born on March 2, 1929 in Saskatoon, SK. She married Paul Casavant in 1946 and they lived in many places throughout their married life. They retired to Chitek Lake in 1985. Doris enjoyed the simple things in life: playing bingo, "the vids" and her weekly lottery scratch tickets! She loved to visit with her grandchildren - friends and family were very important to her. A graveside memorial service was held on Thursday, October 12th, 2006 at 1 p.m. from Prince Albert Memorial Gardens with celebrant Rev. Fr. Lennard Sabio. The cross bearer was Ashtun Fineday. The urn bearers were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers were all relatives and friends who shared in Doris' life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
