Obituary of Leonie Bonneau

On October 10, 2006, Leonie Bonneau passed away peacefully at Whispering Pine Place in Canwood, SK at the age of 79. She was born the fourth child of Auguste and Eveline Bonneau on May 15, 1927 in Debden, SK. Leonie was the oldest girl and therefore, helped a lot to raise the family. When the farm was sold, she moved to Prince Albert and worked at different jobs and upgraded her education. She finally settled at home as a seamstress doing alterations and mending for a number of loyal customers. She also cared for her ailing mother during her last year of life. By 1994, alone she decided to return to Debden where she knew most everyone and enjoyed her remaining years as an active member of the Senior's Club and as a volunteer whenever she could help. Her happiest moments were spent at Morin Lake each summer surrounded by family. She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters Roseline Prefontaine, Juliette Bonneau, Marie Gravel, Lucille Doucette, Therese (Ron) McCann and Lis (Don) Katerynych; her brothers Rene (Fernande), Raymond (Paulette), Marc (Jackie), Augustin (Estelle), Leon (Rita), Luc ( Sylvia) and Robert (Claudette); her sisters in-law Bertha Bonneau and Denise (Leo) Sirois as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends. Leonie was predeceased by her parents Auguste and Eveline Bonneau, her two sisters Rita and Lilliane, her five brothers George, Albert, Paul, Jean and Henri, her two sisters in-law Lucille and Yvette, her two brothers in-law John Doucette and Ludger Prefontaine.
