Obituary of Larry Ingolf Alvin Iverson

Larry Ingolf Alvin Iverson, born to Minnie and Ingolf Iverson of Shell Lake on August 5, 1940, passed away with his family at his side on Sunday, June 8, 2014. Larry spent his formative years in Shell Lake. Many days were spent enjoying sports, helping around the house and farm and doing odd jobs for spending money. Many lifelong friendships were created during these years. Larry went out to work in Grade 11 with SaskPower and spent a few years at that. He married Marene Martodam, had three children, and seven grandchildren. Larry worked in Saskatoon, then Shell Lake, and finally in Spiritwood where he lived out the rest of his years, with Marene until 2002, then on his own. He was a lineman by trade, but owned several businesses over the years, and was skilled in many trades. He spent many hours volunteering his time and knowledge in the communities where he lived. It was impossible to meet Larry on the street without getting a warm hello or a big wave. Family and friends were always very important, and he loved to spend time with them, either working alongside or playing golf, ball, hockey or curling. Larry always had time to help anyone in need, and was always willing to lend an ear. His grandchildren were a great source of joy, and he spent many hours with them. His door was always open, and his tank was always full in case the kids needed a place to go or a ride to one of their events. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, June 13th, 2014 at the HJR Arena, Spiritwood, Saskatchewan, with Celebrant Father Dong Doan officiating.
