Obituary of Art Pelchat

Art Pelchat 1930 – 2014 With deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Art Pelchat on the 11th day of September, 2014 at the age of 84 years. Art was born on July 20th, 1930. He grew up in the Shell River area and attended school in the one room school house in Duck Lake. In his late 20’s he worked throughout Alberta and BC in saw mills and on telephone lines. He met his wife Patsy in Prince George and they moved back to Saskatchewan to the family farm in 1962 to raise their family. While he was farming he also worked in logging bush camps for many years. After he retired from working in the bush he enjoyed watching his shows, especially game shows and Judge Judy. He loved to tease all of his children, grandchildren, friends and family. He also had a great love of pets, mainly his cats and dogs. He enjoyed traveling for most of his life, making several trips a year to BC and Alberta and even as far as the NWT. He enjoyed exploring while he was travelling especially going through the mountains and up the gondolas in Jasper. He also loved playing cards; his favorites were Cribbage and Kaiser at family gatherings. Art leaves to cherish his memory: His loving wife of 55 years, Pat.
