Obituary of Samuel "Sam" Albert Olson

Samuel Olson July 9th, 1934 - September 29th, 2014 Sam Olson passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on the 29th day of September, 2014 at the age of 80. Sam’s greatest passions were his family and the outdoors. His Legacy of environmental preservation will never be forgotten. Sam leaves to cherish his memory: His wife of 50 years, Barb Olson (nee: Viney), his children: Susan (Vince) Tetreault & Dean (Ginelle) Olson; his grandchildren: Lucas, Garret and Halayna Tetreault, Bryce and Taylor Olson; his sisters: Nelda (John) Orton, Lynda (Bill) Hall and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends. Sam is predeceased by: his son, Don Lloyd Olson (1989), his brother, Jay Olson, his mother, Helena Mary Olson (nee: Hampson), his father, Dale Olson. A Funeral Service was held in Sam’s honor on Friday, October 3rd, 2014 from the Civic Center in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan with Delores Beaulac officiating. The Honor Guard was formed by fellow Conservation Officers and Members of the Witchekan Wildlife Federation. Urn Bearers were his five Grandchildren. Sam will be laid to rest in the Spiritwood Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Memory may be made to the Witchekan Wildlife Federation.
