Obituary of Daryl James Phillip

NOTICE OF PASSING PHILLIP - Daryl James 1963-2014. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daryl Phillip on October 5, 2014 at Cigar Lake Mine at the age of 50 years. Daryl was born on Nov. 27, 1963 in Prince Albert. He received his education at Parkside and Shellbrook Schools. Daryl loved to play minor hockey in Shellbrook and later bush league hockey. He also loved to play in slow pitch ball tournaments and went to many. He had a "great" passion for John Wayne movies and collected them all. Daryl loved to spend time with his children, family and friends. He was a great host cooking the "best" barbecue meals ever. He had experience in various types of work and worked many years in Northern Saskatchewan and Alberta. Daryl leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Sheila; his children Chelsea, Rachelle and Shane, stepdaughter Ashley (Winston) Kuit and their son Hayes, his mother Shirley Phillip, mother of his children, Shelley Andersen; his aunts and uncles Betsy Bruner, Alice Rogerson, Phyllis Petterson, Louise (Dennis) Coates, Gerald (Derry-Ann) Petterson, his sister-in-law Carol (Victor) Hupaelo; brother-in-law Ordean (Christine) Rask, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his father John (Jim) Phillip, his brother Geoffrey Phillip; his grandparents Jackson and Dorothy Phillip; George and Elizabeth Petterson; uncles Arnold Bruner and Lloyd Rogerson. A private family graveside funeral service was held at the Shellbrook Cemetery on October 11th at 2 p.m. with Archdeacon Andrew Hoskins as officiant.
