Obituary of Lyle Scott Stieb

Lyle Scott Stieb With incredible sadness, the family of Lyle Stieb announces his passing on Saturday, November 8, 2014 in Edmonton, AB. Lyle was born May 8, 1969 in Saskatoon; SK. Lyle was the first child of Bruce and Mary Stieb. Lyle attended school in Leask, SK from 1974 to 1987. After graduating, Lyle left for Saskatoon where he worked for Sutherland Radiator for 15 years. He also worked at SGI, and briefly as a telemarketer. He moved to Edmonton, Alberta in 2005 and worked at various employers earning his journeyman pipe fitter ticket. He was last employed by JV Driver at many of their sites as a general foreman until his passing. While with JV Drivers, Lyle reached the 5000 hour milestone and was awarded a watch in recognition of his dedication. At the time of his passing, he was only 330 hours short of the 10,000 hour milestone. Lyle enjoyed going back home to Saskatchewan where he could spend time with his family. He was especially fond of his two nieces, Jordyn and Jaryn. Lyle never married but had a loving relationship with his life partner, Amanda Sokal. They enjoyed spending time together and travelling from time to time to see the sights. Lyle is survived by his parents, Bruce and Mary Stieb of Shellbrook, SK, his sister Joele (Darren) Fidler of Prince Albert, SK, his two nieces, Jordyn and Jaryn Fidler of Prince Albert, SK, his brother Leon Stieb of Shellbrook, SK, his life partner, Amanda Sokal of Edmonton, AB, his uncle Lloyd Button of Prince Albert, SK, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Lyle was predeceased by his grandparents, Wilbur and Gertie Button and Arthur and Anne Stieb, as well as one uncle, Theo Klingspohn. A celebration of Lyle’s life was held on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 at the Shellbrook Seniors Hall. The Master of Ceremonies was Ean Prosser and Laurie Lanes. The eulogy was delivered by Ean Prosser, and special music was provided by Lyle’s uncle Gerald Lanes. The interment was held at Brightholme Cemetery in the Leask district. In lieu of tributes, memorial donations may be made in memory of Lyle to the Brightholme Cemetery Fund.
