Obituary of Andrew Proulx

It is with great, great sadness that the family of Andrew Proulx announces his passing on December 16, 2006 at the age of 82. Andrew was born to Alfred and Josephine Proulx on July 23, 1924, the last of their children. His family farmed at the SE corner of 26-51-8 W of 3rd RM Spiritwood. Andrew went to school in the Shell River District. He then married the cream of the crop, Edith Fraser on December 28, 1948. They had four daughters and two sons. Andrew and Edith took over the farm and raised cattle, chickens, turkeys and pigs. Andrew always liked to go to rodeos and he even worked at the Sandy Lake Rodeos. That is how he and his family were able to see the rodeo. He loved his sweets, caramel pie, cookies and coconut cream pie. Andrew also loved to go to dances and play the violin. There were parties at the farm with family and friends. He most enjoyed taking the children to church in Victoire and loved to see his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Watching hockey with his grandson Larry Proulx was a popular past time and Andrew's favorite team was the Toronto Maple Leafs. He leaves to cherish his memory his children Verna (Richard) Creed of Clearwater, BC, Doris (Douglas) Pitceathly of Shell Lake, SK, Raymond (Carol) Proulx of Chaplin, SK, Lorraine (Lavern) Pitceathly of Surrey, BC, Hilda (Laurent) Muloin of Shell Lake, SK and Leon (Sa) Proulx of Prince George, BC; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; his sister in-law Catherine Proulx of Shell Lake, SK as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Edith, his parents Alfred and Josephine Proulx, his brothers George (Offilia) Proulx, Maruice (Yvette) Proulx, Pierre Proulx, Fred (Rose) Proulx and his infant brother Albert Proulx; his sisters Alice, Bertha (Louis) Pelchat and Helen (Eloi) Boutin.
