Obituary of Cecile Pouliot

It is with sadness that the family of Cecile Pouliot announces her passing on January 31, 2007 in the Spiritwood & District Health Complex at the age of 71 years.. She was born on October 9, 1935 in Shell River, SK to Lucien and Rose Lafond. Cecile was raised with her five brothers on the Lafond family farm in Leoville, SK. On October 27, 1959 she married Louis Pouliot and they raised their family of six children on the farm in Leoville. Cecile will always be remembered as an extremely loving, caring, happy and energetic woman. She lived her life making other people smile, cooking great meals, making homemade bread and other favorite foods. She loved visiting with every one she knew. Cecile loved to help her children and loved to talk to her grandchildren. Her latest accomplishments were making hand made quilts for her daughters, grandchildren and especially her godchildren. Cecile leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 47 years, Louis; her children Leon (Margie) and their children Dominique, Natalie and Renee; Roseline (Gord) and their children Laura, Brett and Matt; Monique (Dave) and their children Jessica, Melissa and Bailey; Nicole (Lance) and their children Jeremy, Joelle, Tessa and Danielle; Real (Angela) and their children Meagan, Ashley, Danielle, Jaycie and Matthew; and Paul; her brothers Paul (Rose Helen), Leo (Marguerite), Maurice (Helen), Gerard (Paulette) and Roger (Clara); her sister and brother in-laws Julilette Bilodeau, Irene Chamberland, Odile Pouliot, Cebal Ruel, Leo Charrois, Armand (Hazel), Gerald, Andre (Loraine), Henri (Marguerite), Raymond (Rejeanne), Denis (Joan and Marcel (Lucie); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, other relatives and countless friends. Cecile was predeceased by her parents Lucien and Rose Lafond, her brother and sister in-laws Gilles, Marie, Germaine, Isabelle, Bruno, Philippe, Jean and Giselle, Fernande and her special friends Esther Lafond and Irene Waschuk, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. The Vigil of Prayers was held on Sunday, February 4th, 2007 at 7 p.m. from St. Therese Roman Catholic Church in Leoville. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, February 5th, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Therese Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. George Canto as the celebrant. The cross bearer was Diane Ruel. The Music Director was Ed Samson and the organist was Denise Kuzyk. Readers were Lea Zimroz , Therese Mercier, Laura Ness and Jessica Pouliot. The eulogy was given by Cecile's children. Offertory gifts were presented by her grandchildren. An honor guard was formed by Leoville Health Care Auxiliary. Honorary pall bearers were all relatives and friends who shared in Cecile's life and active pall bearers were Noel Pouliot Marc Lafond, Brian Lafond, Michael Lafond, Daniel Lafond and Maurice Chamberland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Evergreen Health Centre or Leoville Cemetery Fund. Cecile was laid to rest in the Leoville Cemetery.
