Obituary of Jim Marsh

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Jim Marsh on January 31, 2007 at the age of 92 years in North Battleford, Sask. Jim leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 61 years, Emma. His children Sandra (Laddie) Helmeczi of Esterhazy, SK; Gwen (Glen) of Saskatoon, SK; LeaAnne (Bruce Jacob) of Willowbrook, SK; Karen (Brian Crawley) of Glenbush, SK and Craig of Glenbush, SK. His nine grandchildren, Randy (Cheryl) Helmeczi; Rosanne Helmeczi; Doug (Tracey) Helmeczi; Sandra Marie (Rob) Temsland; Leslie Helmeczi; Travis (Lori) Jacob; Curtis (Nikolina) Jacob; Alexander Crawley; Kian Crawley. His seven great grandchildren: Brett and Jolee Helmeczi; Justin and Danika Temsland; Carter Helmeczi; Dawson and Walker Jacob; his brothers Roland (Arloa) of Lanigan, SK and Clifford (Rae) of Creston, BC; his sister Margarete (Luther) Olson of North Battleford, SK; his sister in-law Linda Gatzke of North Battleford, SK, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents Charles and Elizabeth Marsh. The funeral service was held Monday, February 5, 2007 from the Sandwith Community Hall in Sandwith Sask. with Rev. Don Unger officiating. Marjorie Klassen played the piano and the congregational hymns were Amazing Grace and In the Garden. A solo, What a Friend we Have in Jesus, was sung by Laurie Gatzke. Special violin music was performed by Bruce McNabb. The eulogy was read by Pauline Heitzmen. Honorary pallbearers were all of Jim's grandchildren and great grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Lloyd Gatzke, Don Gatzke, Leonard Gatzke, Neil Marsh, Keith Marsh and Ed Hein. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Saskatchewan Parkinson's Disease Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice. Jim was laid to rest in the Hyde Park Cemetery.
