Thinking of you all as you grieve your mom's passing.
Your mom was a wise, kind, caring, and funny lady ... a wonderful neighbour, a super cook, and a ray of sunshine in the Parkland Integrated Health Facility. She brightened my dad's days when he was not feeling so good, and would encourage and tease him to joy when he was in the mood for racing wheelchairs.
One day, when dad was really not well, your mom came into his room and just watched him sleep until he opened his eyes. As soon as he saw her, the mustered up the strength to get his hand out from under the blankets and reached out for her hand. He was so touched she was there when he woke up. It brought tears to see the two of them, holding hands and looking at each other like they understood what we don't yet... like two best buddies in Grade One who shared a special language.
Life will not be the same without her. We were all so blessed to have her in our lives for the time we did. Fill the void in your hearts with sweet memories, and cherish her forever. She was an exceptional person.
