Obituary of Raymond Fee

Raymond Arthur Fee, born July 2, 1920 in Cando, Saskatchewan to parents Charles and Lilli Fee, older brother to Emily and Gordon. Their father owned and operated a successful auto mechanics garage in Cando. Ray was eight years old when his father passed. The family then moved to the Twin Bay area to live with Charles’ parents, Cyrus J and Emma Fee in 1928. In 1934 they moved to the Ranger district and onto the Cyrus J Fee homestead. Though Ray was faced with many responsibilities at an early age, he still made time for fun, teaching himself to skate and swim as a teenager. In 1938, while living and working for various area farmers in the Idylwild area met the love of his life, Doris Jean Pickard. Ray was a wonderful provider and loving husband and father. Together they raised Theodore James, May Jean, and the twins, Arthur Jay and Albert Charles on the farm through many years of adventurous times. Ray and Doris retired from farming and moved to Chitek Lake in 1985 where they built the Pineview Service garage first run by Uncle Art and later by Uncle Albert. They happily lived out their golden years together surrounded by their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and great-great-great Ray spent many years enjoying his favorite hobbies; camping, fishing, playing pool, riding ski-doos, quads and later his motorized scooter. Ray fished until he was 88 years old, he liked playing pool at the Seniors Centre best. Following the loss of Doris in 2012, Ray lived on his own, then with Albert and Irene, and at the Evergreen Centre in Leoville until his passing. Ray really enjoyed his time at the Evergreen Centre, visiting with the residents daily, having family and friends stop in often, and receiving the love and care of the nurses and staff. Ray has seen many things and witnessed many changes over his full and rich lifetime. Hard times he and Doris faced head on, together and without fear. They stood up for what was right and taught us all to do the same. They made it through a World War, the dirty thirties, and the loss of beloved family members and friends. But so many events that they saw were beautiful ones; weddings and births, the strength found in the love of a good family, and a long and happy life. An amazing gift to have had this great man for so long, though his passing has left a huge hole in our hearts, we must now fill that hole with our great memories, values and lessons learned, and with our love for one another. Let their legacy be we, their family, carry on this legacy of love which they have left us. Raymond is lovingly remembered by: his daughter: May French, his daughters-in-law: Autumn Fee, Rita Fee, Irene Fee, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, his brother, Gordon (Maxine) Fee, his sister-in-law, Gladys Boyko, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives.
