Obituary of Lawrence Vermette

Lawrence Vermette 1937-2015 Lawrence passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Victoria Hospital, in Prince Albert, SK. He was born June 3, 1937 in Rosthern, SK the only child of Russell and Stella Vermette. Lawrence was raised in the Duck Lake area attending the country school of Duval until the age of 16 years. The family then moved to Big River where he joined his father in the post hauling business. In 1963 he met the love of his life Hilda Lajeunesse and they were married January 1964. After many moves and five children they semi- retired to Christopher Lake. He touched many lives throughout his many business adventures. In 2012 they move back to Prince Albert, and in May of 2015 Lawrence finally retired at the ripe young age of 78 years. He had a great love for all his family and will be truly missed. Lawrence will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Hilda; his daughter Ruth (Danny) Caron and family Nicholas Cowie (Diane), Curtis Cowie, and Marnie Caron (Colin); three sons Vaughn (Charlene) Vermette and family Brennan Vermette, and Mykayla Vermette (Austin); Neil (Denise) Vermette and family Erica Vermette, Landon Vermette & his daughter Lauren, and Shelby Vermette; Corey (Candace) Vermette and family Brianna Vermette (Joe), and Brycen Vermette (Chelsee); his mother- in- law Denise Lajeunesse; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Lawrence was predeceased by his daughter Rebecca, parents Russell & Stella Vermette, and father-in-law Patrick Lajeunesse. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00pm on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at St Michael’s Roman Catholic Parish, 1505- 13th Street West Prince Albert, SK with Bishop Albert Thévenot and Father Travis Myrheim officiating. A private family interment will be held at the Big River Cemetery. Memorial donations in Lawrence’s memory may be directed to the Saskatchewan Lung Association 1231- 8th Street East Saskatoon, SK S7H 0S5.
