Obituary of Mervin Ross Ritchie

Mervin Ross Ritchie 1941-2015 It is with overwhelming sorrow I announce the sudden passing of my loving husband Mervin Ross Ritchie on September 4, 2015. Mervin was born on February 5, 1941. He took his schooling at the Silver Cliff School and completed high school in Canwood, SK. He went on to take his teachers training in Saskatoon, SK. Following that he taught for one year in Spiritwood, SK and two years in Canwood, SK. In 1964 he married Carolyn (Aug) Ritchie. We taught in Kelvington for two years before moving to Shellbrook. After teaching for eighteen years Mervin resigned in 1979. He farmed with his Dad and worked part time at the Co-op until his retirement. Mervin will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years Carolyn; his brother- in- law Archie (Vera) Aug; his sister- in- law Janice (Lauron) Yungwirth; his dear aunt Nora Thompson and many cousins. Mervin was predeceased by his parents Ross and Mary (Thompson) Ritchie and Carolyn’s parents Archie and Julia Aug. A Private Graveside Service will be held. Memorial donations in Mervin’s memory may be directed to the Shellbrook and Districts Health Services Foundation.
