Christopher William Weenonis 1985-2015 It is with broken hearts that the family of Christopher William Weenonis announce his sudden passing on the 5th day of October 2015 at the young age of 29 years. Christopher was born on October 16, 1985 in Prince Albert, SK to Albert & Gloria Rainey. Christopher is lovingly survived by his mother, Gloria Rainey; his son, Chase Joseph; his step-son, McKenzie Joseph; his siblings, Bob Jr. Rainey, Sheldon Rainey, Dale Rainey - Weenonis (Jasmine), Dwayne Bird, Laurie Rainey - Weenonis (Trevor), Jennifer Rainey - Weenonis (Shawn), Crystal Rainey - Weenonis, Darlene Keenatch; his uncles, George Lachance, Willie Lachance, Ervin Lachance, as well as numerous cousins and other relatives. He is predeceased by his father, Albert Rainey; his brother, Adrian Clark Weenonis; his grandparents, Jack & Juliette Weenonis & Margaret & Antoine Bear. The wake service for Chris commenced on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015 at the Big River First Nation Band Hall and the funeral took place on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from the Band Hall with the elders officiating. The funeral then moved over to the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church for Mass of Christain Burial with Father Tuan Doan and interment took place after in the Whitefish Catholic Cemetery by the river. Pallbearers were, John Berland, Peter Joseph, Roddie Joseph, William Angus, Moise Dreaver, and Larry Thomas.
