Obituary of George Henry Clouthier

GEORGE CLOUTHIER 1935 – 2015 It is with heavy hearts but fond memories that the family of George Henri Clouthier, late of Wheatland Lodge in Leask, formerly of Blaine Lake, announce his peaceful calling back home to the Lord. George was born on August 17, 1935 on the family farm to Anatalie and Wilfrid Clouthier. He was the 11th of 13 children. With so many siblings, mischief was easy to find and George was known as the trickster of the family. Growing up George was the true farm boy, with 13 kids and limited funds, there was always work to be done. George never left the farm life for long; he did spend a few years working in B.C running a chipper at one of the pulp mills. He soon returned home to help his parents on the farm and took a job as a mechanic for Raby’s Sales and Service in Marcelin. Even after leaving this job George was known as a backyard mechanic for the area for years. Though George never had a family of his own, there was no shortage of love in his life. He had more friends than he could ask for, and a very large extended family that he spoiled. His nieces and nephews fondly remember their time spent on the farm berry picking, tobogganing, and picking potatoes with Uncle George. In his spare time George would help out at auctions, he was an avid antique collector who enjoyed being able to discuss his hobby with other collectors. When not at an auction or visiting friends George was with the boys going hunting or fishing, he was one of those people who made friends where ever he went. After a full life of farming, George finally decided to rent out his farm land and retire, using his free time to keep up his hobbies. As George got older and his health declined, he became a resident of Wheatland Lodge in Leask. There he was reunited with some old friends and made many new friends, including a special friend Peggy who provided him with companionship till the time of his passing. George will be fondly remembered for his caring heart, generous spirit and amazing sense of humour. George is lovingly survived by his siblings, Maurice (Teresa) Clouthier of Marcelin, SK; Raymond (Julie) Clouthier of Blaine Lake, SK; Terry (Bob) Hill of Penticton, B.C.; his sisters-in-law, Jeanne Clouthier, Loretta Clouthier, Marie Clouthier, and Fern Valley. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. George is predeceased by, his parents Wilfrid & Anatalie Clouthier; his brothers Joe, Gabe, Leo, Jerry, Andy, and Edward Clouthier; his sisters Jeanne, Cecile and Stella; his brothers-in-law Norm Storrey and Raymond Renaud.
