Obituary of Roxanne Carla Greyeyes

Roxanne Carla Greyeyes 1969 - 2015 With broken hearts the family of Roxanne Carla Ahenakew-Greyeyes, late of Ahtahkakoop First Nation, sadly announce her sudden passing on November 8, 2015 at the young age of 46 years. Roxanne was born on May 16, 1969 in Prince Albert to Keith and Linda Ahenakew. Roxanne is lovingly survived by her partner, Wayne Teed; her sons, Lionel (Stephanie McAdam) Greyeyes, Lyndon (Tara Longneck) Greyeyes; her grandsons, Nathan Greyeyes, Jace Greyeyes; her mother Linda Ahenakew; her father Jeffery Ahenakew; her brothers, Carson (Arletta) Ahenakew, Austin (Carmela) Ahenakew, Lanny (Sheldon Gaetz) Ahenakew, Devan Ahenakew; her sisters, Cheryl Ahenakew, Pamela (Tado) Sasakamoose, Darla (Leon Isbister) Ahenakew, Alison (Ron Hickey) Ahenakew, Danielle Ahenakew, Jennifer Ahenakew; her grandparents, Ivy Ahenakew, Edward and Vena Ahenakew, Kenny and Lorna Tootoosis; the father of her sons, Lionel Greyeyes (Buck); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. Roxanne was predeceased by, her son Nathan Edward Lewis Greyeyes; her dad, Keith Ahenakew; her step-mom, Ruth Ahenakew; her grandparents, Ruben Ahenakew and Edward & Annie Ahenakew. The wake services for Roxanne commenced at the residence of Linda Ahenakew on November 8 and 9th, 2015 on the Ahtahkakoop First Nation and on November 10, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. moved to the Ahtahkakoop First Nation Band Hall. The Funeral service for Roxanne took place on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Band Hall with Rev. Marjorie Hyman officiating. The eulogists were Lanny Ahenakew (family), Audrey Badger (Cree Nations Treatment Haven), Mavis Ahenakew, Vanessa Ahenakew, Christine Masuskapoe, Clarence Frenchman and Tamara Eberts (Ahtahkakoop Health Centre). The interment followed in Muskeg Lake Cree Nation Cemetery. Pallbearers for Roxanne’s service were Lawrence Primeau, Lawrence Lavallee, Tony Greyeyes, Clarence Frenchman, Warren Primeau, Miles Ahenakew, Dallas Primeau, Adam Sanderson; honorary pallbearers were all of her co-workers at the Ahtahkakoop First Nation Health Centre and Cree Nations Treatment Haven.
