Obituary of Vivian Evelyn Bowman

Vivian Evelyn Bowman February 23, 1937 - December 8, 2015 With deep sadness the family of Vivian Bowman announce that she passed away peacefully on December 8, 2015 at Whispering Pine Place in Canwood at the age of 78. Vivian was born on Ahtahkakoop First Nation on February 23, 1937 to her parents Joseph and Ida (nee Vandal) Ahenakew of Ahtahkakoop First Nation. She is lovingly survived by her sons, Wesley Dwayne (Darlene) Bowman, Keith (Rhonda) Bowman, Blaine Bowman, Frankie (Jackie) Bowman, Irvin (Margaret) Bowman; her daughter, April (Daniel) Bowman-Delorme; her brother, Burton (Gloria) Ahenakew; her sister, Arlene Keeskotagan, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vivian was predeceased by her father, Cain Ahenakew; her mother, Ida Ahenakew; her husband, Wesley Bowman Sr.; her sons, Byron and Craig Bowman; her daughter, Leah Bowman; her brothers & sisters, Roy Ahenakew, Henry Ahenakew, Irvin Ahenakew, Lita Genereaux and Silna Scott; as well as 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The Wake Service for Vivian commenced on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service took place at 11:00 a.m. on December 11, 2015, with both services being held at the Ahtahkakoop First Nation Band Hall. Interment followed at St. Mark's Anglican Cemetery. Burton Ahenakew officiated both services, and the Ahtahkakoop Choir shared special music. Pallbearers were Kyle Bowman, Jeremy Bowman, Daniel Bowman, Corey Tipewan, Farron Starblanket, Prentice Bowman, Cody Bowman and Blade Starblanket.
