Obituary of Kathleen Elizabeth Booth

The families of Kathleen Booth are saddened to announce her passing on June 26, 2007 at the age of 73 years. Kathleen growing up was considered a tomboy, riding horses to school and enjoying sports, especially softball. A skill till in evidence as a grandmother when she hit a home run and slid home, delighting her grandchildren and much younger team-mates. She also played piano and shared a passion for art and music with Clare, drawing and painting with watercolors. Kathleen accompanied Clare throughout the States and Canada to various piano and violin seminars, making lasting friendships with those she met. Her love for gardening and rock collecting was also well known, as was her sense of humour, kindness and generosity towards others; unless she was beating Clare at scrabble, then all bets were off. Kathleen will be sadly missed by friends and family. She leaves to cherish her memory her caring husband of 54 years, Clare Booth of Spiritwood, SK; her children Dixie (Henry) Haldorson and their children Kelley, Marcy, Ellen and Jonas of Brooks, AB, Ray (Janice) Booth of Maidstone, SK, Val Marie (Guy) Steinborn and their children Ashley (Wesley) Berent and Bayla (Hugh) Lunny of Golden, BC, Edward (Carol) Booth and their children Justine and Dean of Taber, AB, Brian (Betty) Booth of Spiritwood, SK and Serena (Kenneth) Burton of Spiritwood, SK; her brother in-law Jake Weisbroad of Melville, SK as well as her niece Laura Wesalowski, her nephews Dale, Glenn and Garth Weisbroad and numerous cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents William and Alma Rutley, her sister Eileen Weisbroad, her two brothers Alan and Glen Rutley. The funeral service was held on Monday, July 2nd, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Spiritwood Civic Centre with Melvin Monus as the officiant. Honorary pall bearers are all relatives and friends who shared in Kathleen's life.
