Obituary of Louise Tipton

Louise Tipton 1955-2015 It is with fond memories yet heavy hearts that the family of Louise Tipton announce her passing on the 30th day of December 2015 at the age of 60 years. The funeral service for Louise will be held on Saturday, June 11th, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Norbury Cemetery (south of Spiritwood, watch for signs). As a child, Louise loved spending much of her time catching frogs, snakes and anything else that moved, she also enjoyed rafting on the pond near her childhood home! As she grew up she was involved in most sports, including figure skating and hockey - she played the game with a lot of emotion and determination and most of the time came out of the corner with the puck! After graduation, Louise attended business college, and was employed throughout her lifetime doing secretarial work, most recently, at McKercher Law Firm, apart of the accounting team! She also served as secretary for the Spiritwood Ag Society for a number of years! On November 16th, 1974, Louise married Les Tipton, and thus, went from a town girl to a farm girl! Louise fit into the farm life very well, but she had some very interesting things happen to her while learning the ropes! She is the only person that I know of that tried to back out of the elevator while hauling grain - of course no one on the Tipton farm would have told her any different, and she also seemed to get a grain truck that the hood flew up on every now and then! We are not even going to mention the introduction of sorting cattle, which is where she learned a whole new vocabulary! All in all, she did master the farm life and became a very important part of the operation! Louise was an avid curler; one of her favorite events of the year was the Spiritwood Ladies Bonspiel! The curling came second to the fun and enjoyment of dressing up for supper and having fun with the girls! She also loved to do ceramics; most of the trinkets in her home today she made herself and treasured them deeply. Louise was blessed with two wonderful children; Lane and Sara, and she loved to follow them around through hockey, figure skating, 4-H or anything else they were involved in. As time went on and the kids grew up, Louise turned her attention to more camping, fishing, and most beloved of all - going away for a winter holiday! Tequila slams were a very important part of every day while on vacation, also while camping at Clearwater! Louise was grandma to some very lucky and blessed children; Tesa, Bowen, Svea, Quinn and Nyah! She will be remembered by many for her extraordinary work ethics, her punctuality, her honesty, her fun loving attitude and for her divine friendship, and will be missed dearly by all who knew her! While on the farm, Louise took the job of cutting the grass at the nearby Norbury cemetery. At that time, she decided that that was the place for her to be at rest - she dreamed of the beautiful setting in the summer when the grass is green and the leaves are full! We would like to invite all her friends and family to the Norbury cemetery, to fulfill her dream! For those wishing, memorial donations may be sent in Louise’s memory to Spiritwood Health Complex Foundation or to a Charity of your choice.
