Obituary of Margery Irene Kenney

Margery Irene Kenney April 22, 1920 - January 24th, 2016 With family by her side, our much loved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother left us peacefully at the age of 95, on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at the Lloydminster Continuing Care Centre. Margery, the eldest of three daughters, was born in Saskatoon, SK to Hattie and Edgar Cooke. The family relocated to the Mildred District, where, in 1941 she met and married Dwain Kenney. In 1961, Margery, Dwain and their three children moved to a farm at Medstead, Sk and in 1982, retired to town. In addition to caring for her family, she loved her outdoor gardening and her many craft projects, from sewing and knitting, to ceramics. Many family members have received those projects as gifts over the years. Margery enjoyed living with her daughter, Beth and husband Mick Golinowski, on their farm at Kitscoty, AB from 2005 to 2007. In August of 2007, she moved into the Assisted Living Facility in Islay, AB. In May of 2012 she moved to the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre in Lloydminster and then to the new Lloydminster Continuing Care Centre in June 2015. Margery is remembered and deeply missed by her son, Lloyd (Carol) Kenney of St. Albert, Alberta and their children Lana (Tim) Feher and Aaron Kenney.
