Obituary of Marion Jessie Grassick
Marion Jessie Grassick (nee: Beebe)
August 18, 1943 - April 17, 2016
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marion Jessie Grassick on April 17, 2016 surrounded by family. Marion was born at Rabbit Lake, SK, third daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Beebe. A kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, Marion always loved the simple things in life such as camping at the lake, going to the farm where she was raised, reading, crocheting, spending time visiting with friends and her family of 5 children, 7 stepchildren, 29 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Marion attended Timberlost School until grade 3 then Capasin School until Grade 8. At sixteen Marion babysat for Charlie Grassick. They fell in love and married on Aug 16, 1962, the family then moved to Erinferry on the Deep Lake Road, where Marion stayed home raising twelve children. Without a vehicle for many years, she walked miles to visit Helen Lakner, and all her many friends. Marion worked with Charlie in the bush, trimming trees, and cooking, later helping with their Moving Company. They moved houses, barns and what ever else you could put wheels under. Many employees were always amazed by Marion’s strength running the jacks. Marion always found time for all her children but her favorite pastime was cuddling all the grandchildren. She loved crocheting, made many Angel blankets for her Grandchildren which are treasured by all those lucky enough to receive one. In 2003 Marion moved to town, enjoying morning coffee with the ladies at Third and Main and afternoon coffee at the Esso with many of the guys. Marion, not a big talker herself, loved to listen to conversations around her. Also joining the Red Hat Society, she enjoyed the travels and events, making her very happy.
