Obituary of Isabelle Agnes Martel

It is with great sadness that the family of Isabelle Martel announces her passing on August 21, 2007 at the age of 99 years. Isabelle was born on November 28, 1907 in Memphis Tennessee. Her family later moved to North Battleford and this is where she grew up. She attended a country school near Battleford and then continued her education in Moose Jaw at normal school. Isabelle began teaching in 1929 in North Battleford. On November 11, 1931 she married Peter Martel and she put here teaching career on hold to start her family. She raised 5 children, 4 girls June, Pet, Kathy and Sandra and one son Rod. In 1959, after 28 years away from teaching, Isabelle went back to work. Isabelle had a green thumb and could make any anything grow. She loved a good visit and her favorite visit was over a card game.
