Carrol Brown

Obituary of Carrol Elwood Brown

Mr. Carrol Elwood Brown Carrol Brown was born on July 9th, 1932 to Bert and Gladys Brown in the Sturgeon Valley District. He has two siblings, an older brother Garnet and a younger sister Bernice. They moved from Sturgeon Valley to Mont Nebo where they continued their childhood. Dad worked for Northern Forest Products in Prince Albert, drove gravel truck, worked in Edmonton, and other various jobs but found that his true passion was the farm. Dad met mom, Grace Johnson, and they were married on Nov 29th, 1958. She always said that she fell for his blue eyes, long eyelashes and good looks along with a case of Spearmint Gum. They resided in Cameo on the Will and Arletta Brown farm. Within a couple of years, they had their first child, Valerie. Beverly was born in the following year. Six years later Merv came along, and another six years later, along came Juliane. After her, the family was complete. Dad loved his grandchildren. One of Dad’s favorite traits which he taught us all, is the ability to cherish the times we have. He had 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great-grandchildren and had a special place for each one of them. Each grandchild could tell you so many special stories where they shared so many great experiences with him. They also spent hours together watching “Just for Laughs” on the T.V. Dad loved to travel. Even if it was a Sunday drive to PA for a burger, he just loved to jump in his truck and drive. He loved to look at the crops growing and watch them progress. He also really enjoyed buying groceries and it was his challenge to get all the good bargains. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to visit and laugh with friends and family. Dad also really likes his Chev trucks. He loved practical jokes and everyone loved playing practical jokes on him. Dad has overcome so many health challenges through the years. These last few months have been the hardest as he was unable to be at home. Dad was able to stay connected with family and friends, even during busy times with his cell phone. He even was checking up on the progress of the combining. Dad fought hard and we know one thing is that he hung in to see that we finished harvest this year. It was a challenge for all the farmers this fall and it paralleled his health struggle. He hung in till we got ‘er done.
