Alma Elizabeth MacTavish (nee:Simpson)passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert on October 26, 2007 after a brief illness. Alma was born on the Simpson family farm near Herschel in 1913 where she spent her childhood and early adult years. In 1936 she married James (Bud) MacTavish in Rosetown and soon after they purchased a mixed farm in the Rowena district. A few years later they moved to the permanent family farm North-East of Herschel. They raised their four children on the mixed farm and lived there until they retired in 1973. They then moved to an acreage west of Saskatoon where they lived until 1986. From1981 to 1995 Alma and Bud maintained a winter residence in Jeffersonville Indiana and spent their summers in Canada. They moved back to Canada permanently in 1995 and lived in the Shellbrook area up until Bud's death in 2000. Alma then moved to Prince Albert and lived in Carment Court until her passing. Alma's life had two focuses, her strong religious beliefs and her family. Alma always maintained a strong commitment to God and modeled true Christian values for her family.
