Obituary of Doreen Belle Priestley

Doreen Belle Priestley September 1, 1940 - November 24, 2016 It is with great sadness that the family of Doreen Priestley announce that she passed away on November 24th, 2016. Doreen was born to James and Lucille (nee: Anderson) Whaling on September 1, 1940. She is fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service for Doreen was held at 1:00pm on Monday, November 28th, 2016 at the Spiritwood Civic Centre with Delores Beaulac officiating. The eulogy was presented by Doreen’s brother, Bob Whaling. The soloist was Patty Heisler and a selection, sung and recorded by Riley Siebert was sent and played. Honorary pallbearers were Doreen’s grandchildren and great grandchildren. The interment will be at a later date. Doreen is lovingly remembered by: her husband, Ken; her children and their families: ~Edwina (Bernie) Turgeon of Lloydminster, Sask and their children: Christa (Jared) Martin and children, Ty and Taya; Cole (Ashley) Turgeon and children, Brody and Brooklyn. ~Alvin (Donna) Priestley of Spiritwood, Sask and their children: Gavin, Seanna and Landyn. ~Darren (Tanya) Priestley of Engelfeld, Sask and their children: Saundra (Will Skjerven) and children, Odinn, Loki and Vanier. Dylan Smith Doreen is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: ~Garry (Doreen) Whaling of Duffield, Alberta ~Tom (Dianna) Whaling of Evansburg, Alberta ~Robert “Bob” (Colleen) Whaling of Gibbons, Alberta ~Trudy (Jim) Thompson of Lloydminster, Sask and her brother-in-law, Vern Clifton as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Doreen is predeceased by: her parents, James and Lucille Whaling; her sister, Patricia Clifton and an infant brother, Billy Whaling Donations in memory of Doreen may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1738 Quebec Avenue Unit 26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9.
