I am writing this with a heavy, heavy heart. I have a previous appointment in Saskatoon, and can't make it to the service to say good-bye to my friend, Susie. When I heard about Susie, I felt as though someone had ripped my heart out and kicked me in the stomach at the same time. Susie and I got to know each other while trying ton save our emergency service in Big River. We hit it off right away. I knew Susie briefly before, but I never really knew her until then. We had many meetings, along with Carol. Nothing ever became of the emergency service, but it did create a beautiful friendship. We had coffee dates at each others house as well as great times. Susie's whole live revolved around her family. She constantly spoke about her children and grandchildren. Always! They were her life, her reason for living. She was so excited when she told me that Alfred, herself, kids and grandchildren were all going to Mexico. It was better than Christmas for her. I can't imagine going back to Big River, and not seeing her smiling face. I will truly miss my friend. Gods speed and say Hi to mom for me. I will never forget you.
