Obituary of Lucien Eugene Beaulac
Lucien Eugene Beaulac, age 70, late of Debden, passed away at Evergreen Health Centre in Leoville on Sunday November 25, 2007. Lucien was born at home in Eldred on September 18, 1937 to Raoul and Eva Beaulac. He was the 8th child born in a family of 12. At the age of 2 he survived polio. He was raised in the Eldred-Ormeaux country. In 1964, he met Therese Piche, a young lady from Willow Bunch who was at the time teaching in Debden. They were married in Willow Bunch on August 21, 1965. They lived in Debden for 3 years and Angele, Gerard and Richard were all born in this time. They then moved to Prince George and this is where Lillianne was born. A year later they moved to Calgary, a couple years later Regina and then a year later back to Debden for good. A few years later the children started coming again; Suzette, Lucien Jr. and Paul. Lucien was known as the man with the big boot. He farmed, did carpentry and for the last 10 years did the mail run from Debden to Victoire. He enjoyed fishing, playing crib and visiting and traveling. On February 2nd 1987, he lost the love of his life. Since then he has been blessed with 13 grandchildren, 6 girls and 7 boys. Lucien is lovingly remembered by his children Angele (Ken) Newkirk and their children Kaylee, Clarke and Karrah of Swift Current, SK, Gerard (Louise) Beaulac and their children Charles and Terry of Leoville, SK, Richard (Michelle) Beaulac and their children Megan and Chantele of Spiritwood, SK, Lillianne Beaulac and her son John Paul of Saskatoon, SK, Suzette (Shone) Atkinson and their children Kirkland Melsted and Kael of Port Hope, ON, Lucien Jr. (Stacey) Beaulac of Lloydminster, SK, and their children Tessa, Blaine, Lyndi Marchuk of Red Deer, AB and Cody Bailey of Debden, SK, Raoul Paul of Debden, SK; his brothers and sisters Joseph (Marguerite); Cecile (Roger) Autet; Rolande Gatin; Henriette (Arthur) Francoeur; Yvan (Peggy); Gisele (Yolande) Couture; Albert (Diane) and Anita; his sister and brothers in-law Robert (Pat) Piche; Marielle (Claude) Dionne and Mary (Vince) MacKinnon; his father in-law Paul Piche as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Therese Piche; his parents Raoul and Eva (Laitres) Beaulac; his mother in-law Viola (Bruneau) Piche; his sister Graziella; his two brothers George and Archille; his sister in-law Claire Beaulac; his four brothers in-law Albert Pelletier, Albert Beaujot, Albert Gatin and Claude Piche and his two nephews Daniel Beaulac and Andre Pelletier. The prayer service was held on Friday, November 30th, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. from St. Jean Baptiste R. C. Church in Debden. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, December 1st, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Jean Baptiste R. C. Church with Rev. Fr. Bernabe Milan Sajonas as the celebrant. The cross bearer was Clarke Newkirk and the eulogy was read by Albert Beaulac. The honorary pall bearers were all relatives and friends who shared in Lucien's life and the active pall bearers were Richard Beaulac, Lucien Jr. Beaulac, Paul Beaulac, Charles Beaulac Gerard Beaulac and Terry Beaulac. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rose Gill Lodge Box 157 Rabbit Lake, SK S0M 2L0 or Canadian Mental Health Assoc. Prince Albert Branch 1322 Central Avenue Prince Albert, SK S6V 4W3. Cremation followed the service and Lucien will be laid to rest in the Debden Cemetery at a later date.
