So sorry to hear about your loss. My memories of Opal are mostly when we were kids. Always a gentle sweet person. She was the older cousin to all us younger ones. Thinking of your family this week.

Sincere sympathies to Roy, Shawn, Shannon , Stephen and families. It was always such a treat to visit with Opal at the kids sports and she had such a heart warming smile. Remember all those fun times you had growing up.

Our heart and prayers go out to the family. Opal was a one of a kind woman whom we were blessed to know. Stan went to school with your mom and I had the pleasure of working with her at Pine Grove, where there was always a smile on her face and a kind word. She brightened the lives of so many and will be dearly missed. And yes she will definitely be watching from above.

I worked with Opal at the men and women's jails and quickly became good friends with her. There was no way you could not love her! Her kindness, caring, nurturing and non judgemental approach extended from her family to friends and to all her patients. She was valued by so many- the good guys and the bad! Inmates would always be asking " when is Opal working again"! My greatest compliment was being mistaken for Opal one day! However the young image was much disappointed when she discovered it wasn't Opal!!
I felt I knew all her family as she spoke so often about her kids and of course lots about those grandkids.
We are all so lucky to have had her as she touched so many.
She was a true Christian and I am sure she has a special place with God. I suspect she is already in his garden after she finishes being a thousand dainties!
Love you Opal and you will live on through our memories.
Dawn
