Obituary of Margery Friesen

Marge left this world peacefully on January 12th, 2008 at the age of 72 years. She was born in Laird, SK on July 11th, 1935. As a young girl she lived the winters in B.C. and the summers in Saskatchewan. In the spring of 1957 she came to Belbutte and settled on the farm. She helped on the farm and still had time to keep her house in order. Marge enjoyed staying at home. Her hobbies were knitting, quilting and crocheting. She even tried her hand at poetry. She enjoyed being with her family to the very end. Margery is lovingly remembered by: Her loving husband of 53 years, Burton Friesen of Belbutte, SK. Her children: Roxane Friesen (Rob Lee) of Edmonton, AB and her son Mark (Leslie) McLeod of New York City, NY and Byron (Verna) Friesen of Belbutte, SK and their children: Chris (Dawn) Friesen of Spiritwood, SK and their children Keterah and Damian and Sheldon Friesen (Megan Veller) of Unity, SK. A daughter in-law Byrle Friesen (Dennis Johnson) of Big River, SK and her children: Coral Friesen and her daughter Madison Krienke and Ray Friesen. Her brother Don (Alice) Heppner of North Battleford, SK, her mother in-law Amanda Friesen of Rosthern, SK, a brother in-law Vern Friesen of Chitek Lake, SK and a sister in-law Lori Lockhart of Port Coquitlam, BC. She was predeceased by: Her son Darrell Friesen, her parents Anton and Katherine Heppner, two nephews and her father in-law Eric Friesen. The Funeral Service for Margery was held on Wednesday, January 16th, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Spiritwood Civic Centre with Rev. Leigh Sinclair and Jen Dresser officiating. Verna Friesen gave the Eulogy, Betty Ann Taylor was the soloist. Northwood Congregational Group led the music. Honorary Pallbearers were "All relatives and friends who have shared in Margery's life." The active Pallbearers were: Chris Friesen, Dawn Friesen, Sheldon Friesen, Megan Veller, Ray Friesen and Coral Friesen. Margery was laid to rest in the Bapaume Cemetery. Memorial Donations in memory of Margery may be made to the Spiritwood Health Complex Foundation. Bye Mom. We will miss you and we all Love you!
