Obituary of Brett Wayne Swenson
Brett Wayne Swenson
November 25, 1971 – September 24, 2017
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Brett Wayne Swenson following an accident at his farm on Sunday September 24, 2017. Brett was born in Prince Albert on November 25, 1971. He was raised in Prince Albert, attended Vincent Massey, PACI and graduated from Carlton. He became a journeyman electrician, and he was well known throughout all the trades as "Bubba". He proudly worked for Alliance Energy Ltd. for the last 15 years, and at the time of his death he was their Foreman/Project Manager in Prince Albert.
Brett saw things as either being black or white and was not hesitant to tell you so. He was the "go-to" guy for everyone. If you needed it, he could find it. He was a great collector of all things he believed to be reusable. If he didn’t have what he needed, he would make it. Many a time he would make a larger withdrawal than deposit at the local dumps.
First and foremost Brett was an amazing father. Baylee Rose was his pride and joy. He was always involved in her interests – baseball, 4H, volleyball, whatever the activity, if Baylee was in it, Brett was there. Brett and Willow also had a very special relationship. She was his wingman at auctions and he taught her how to drive a truck so she could help him pick up bales.
Brett was an outdoorsman no matter the season. You could always find him hunting, fishing, quadding, and snowmobiling. His passion was all things outdoors with his family and friends and his dogs. Brett also loved his animals. He raised Highland cattle, pigs, and a variety of other animals over the years. He enjoyed spending time with his horses and was the Light Horse leader with the Weirdale 4H Club. He served as Councilor with the RM of Garden River and is a volunteer member of the Garden River Fire Dept.
He is survived by his daughter Baylee Rose, his wife Stacy Moeller and daughter Willow; his mother, Tanny Swenson and step dad, Felipe Maya; his father Wayne Swenson (Ruth); his sister Ronda O’Dell and niece Kirsten Robert; his half-sister Shawna Kowalchuk (Curt) and nephew Brady, and his half-brother Curtis Swenson. He is also survived by his aunt Twyla Simola and cousin Tiffany (Darren Wolfe); his uncle Tim Feusi (Heather Caruthers) and cousins Jeff Savard, Cheryl Savard, and Angela Lyster (Ryan); his uncle Ron Swenson (Christie) and cousins Jill and Kelly; his aunt Judy Reynolds (Al) and cousin Lon; his aunt Peggy Watt (Danny) and cousin Jody, David and Jason; his uncle Randy Swenson (Lori) and cousins Brennon and Rhys ; his uncle Allen and cousins Greg, Tommy, and Alex. As well, his special aunt Darlene Rawlinson and his special cousins Toddy Dallow (Ian), Audra Rawlinson (Clint Ford), Laurel Hufnagel (Troy), and Ty Rawlinson (Lauralee).
Brett was predeceased by his grandparents Arnold and Sally Feusi and Les and Alma Swenson, and his uncle Erkki Simola.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at 1:00p.m on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1796 15th Avenue East, Prince Albert officiated by Carlin Fehr (Corporate Chaplain for Alliance Energy).
