It is with broken hearts the family of Darlene Bird announce her passing on October 2, 2017. Darlene was born on February 15, 1944 to David and Eva Starblanket. Darlene leaves to mourn; her son; Randy (Connie) Bird, her daughters; Myrna Bird and Lori Bird, her grandchildren; Nicole Bird, Melanie Bowman, Devon Bird, Tasha Bird, Tonya Bird, Tamra Bird, Tanner Ahenakew, Damon Bird, Cameron Bird and Jaylynn Bird, numerous great grandchildren. Her sister; Dorothy (Glen) Bird, her brother; Clifford (Charlene) Starblanket, Her auntie, Shirley Sanderson. Darlene was predeceased by; her husband; Douglas Bird, her daughters; Audrey, Marie, Rhonda, Her grandchildren; Andrea, Aron and Nicholas, Her parents; David and Eva Starblanket, Her Grandparents; George and Emily Starblanket, Her brothers; Allen, Ronald, Ralph, and James Starblanket, Her sisters; Sharlene Newell and Delores Starblanket. The Wake services commenced on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Darlene’s home on Ahtahkakoop First Nation. The Funeral service was on Friday, October 6, 2017 at her home. Rev. Marjorie Hyman was the officiant. The Pallbearers were; Devon Bird, Damon Bird, Tanner Ahenkakew, Reacko Sasakamoose, Jarico Sasakamoose, James Starblanket. The Honorary Pallbearers were; George Masuskapoe, Glen Bird, John (Basil) Starblanket, Joe Koller, Clifford Starblanket, Lewis Ahenakew. The interment was in St. Mark’s Cemetery, Ahtahkakoop First Nation Family and friends wishing to send private online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Beau "Lac" Funeral Home, Donna Lovberg, Funeral Director, Shellbrook (306-747-2828).
