Obituary of Robert "Bob" Charles Morrison

Robert (Bob) Charles Morrison December 1, 1937 – October 6, 2017 It is with sadness, we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Morrison, who passed away at the Victoria Hospital with family by his side. Bob was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan, the third child of Elsie and Charles Morrison. He grew up on a farm in the Spruce Home area and attended Centreville School. At an early age, Bob left home to go work in various mines. He later dug wells around Spruce Home and area. At one time he followed the Pow Wow circuit, with his food truck, which he called his “Chicken Wagon”. Bob owned and operated the Lebret Hotel. After retirement, his summers were spent golfing and helping out at the Spruce Home Golf Course. Over the years, Bob lived in Uranium City, Comox, Regina, Lebret, Meath Park and the Nelson Care Home in Prince Albert. He made friends wherever he went and was known for his sense of humor. Bob enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, baseball, curling, Casinos, Bingo, travelling south in winters, watching sports on TV, and following the race circuit watching his thoroughbred horse race. Survived by: his children; Robbie Morrison and son Alex; Ada (Frank Dawson) and their twin sons, Devon and Michael; step-sons Wayne, David, and Dwayne; his sisters, Frances Aiken (Lloyd Forrest); Evelyn (Bill Richards); brother William (Wendy) Morrison. Several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by: his parents Elsie and Charles Morrison; Marlene, mother of his children; Delia his second wife; brother in law Raymond Aiken; and sister in law Frances Morrison. At Bob’s request, a graveside service following cremation will be held at the Spruce Home Cemetery, on Wednesday October 11th at 1:00 p.m. Donations in Bob’s memory can be made to the Victoria Hospital Foundation or the Cancer Society.
