Obituary of Lorna Inez Rice
Lorna Inez Rice
September 5, 1933 - October 31, 2017
In the evening of October 31/2017 we lost a very important member of our family - our mother, Lorna. Born in Pleasantdale, Saskatchewan on September 5, 1933 she lived a simple but full childhood. Switching between owning & operating restaurants & town administrator made for an extremely versatile and varied life. Raising children, always gardening and creating many different hobbies and crafts made for a busy happy life.
Lorna and husband, Earl had a common love of horses & life in the bush. Fishing, hunting and a general love of the outdoors made for an active and exciting life in Big River, Sask.
Lorna loved being in the Red Hat Society group having much fun dressing vividly with so many wonderful friends. Her talents were many - quilting, knitting, keeping a beautiful flower garden, dog grooming - she was always ready to tackle any task.
Her friends meant a great deal to her and she was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need. She will be missed greatly by her friends and more than ever by her family. Her strength and determination were an inspiration to us all.
A memorial service for Lorna will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Big River Community Hall. Donations in Lorna's memory may be made to Lung Cancer Canada
