Obituary of Ronald Eugene Lavoie

Ronald Eugene Lavoie Ronald (aka Blackie) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday November 12, 2017. He was born December 14, 1947 in Prince Albert, SK to Alphé and Louise (nee Gaudet) Lavoie. Born and raised in Albertville, Ron briefly spent time away as a young adult to work on the West Coast, an experience that stayed with him forever. He returned to his home community to marry his sweetheart and raise his family. He pursued his career as a welder for Sask Pulp, while continuing the family farm with his father. When he wasn’t working on the land, he could be found creatively fixing/building/problem solving on something in his shop, playing Kaiser, caring for his chickens, or travelling across Canada visiting his kids and grandkids. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Yvette (nee Chenier); his daughters Lee-Ann (Dany) and their children Shantelle and Nathan; Michelle (Jason) Merriman and their son Aiden; his son Brian Lavoie (Nicole “Betty” DuVent); his siblings Bert (Colleen) Lavoie, George (Rhea) Lavoie, Rose- Marie “Lily” (Michael) Watt, Rita (Glenn) Mills; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Ron was predeceased by his parents, and his son- in -law Robert Kingyens. Prayer Service will be held at 7:30pm on Thursday November 16, 2017 with Yvonne Nackonechny. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Friday, November 15, 2017 both services will be held at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Albertville, SK with Father Millan Sajonas officiating. Interment will follow at the St. James Cemetery. Memorial donations in Ron’s memory may be directed to the St. James Cemetery Fund.
