Obituary of Raymond Henry George Delisle

It is with deep sadness that the family of Ray Delisle announces his sudden passing on February 2, 2008 in Shellbrook at the age of 72 years. He was born on December 28th, 1935 in Edam, SK. Raymond is lovingly remembered by his son Hank (Diane) Delisle and their children Wesley (Amanda) Delisle of Lloydminster, AB, Wayne (Rachelle) Delisle of Lloydminster, AB and Kimberley Delisle of Big River, SK; the mother of his son, Agnes Delisle of Big River, SK; his stepsons David (Laura) Cadrin of Red Deer, AB and his children Matthew and Rachael; Guy (Barbra Ann) Cadrin of Prince Albert, SK; his special friend Marlene Mason of Shellbrook, SK; his sisters Yvette McCaffrey of Shellbrook, SK, Dolores (Ed) Watier of Shell Lake, SK; his brothers Joe (Janice) Delisle of Vermillion, AB, Harvey (Debbie) Delisle of Shellbrook, SK and Clem (Kathleen) Delisle of Shellbrook, SK; his brother in-law Sherman Harty of Leoville, SK; his sister in-law Rita Delisle of Tisdale, SK; his uncles Louis Nolin and Armand Nolin of St. Walburg, SK as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Aldina and Emmanuel Delisle, his sister Alida Harty, his brother Philip and an infant sister. The funeral service was held on Friday, February 8th, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Big River Community Hall. Rev. Fr. Bernabe Millan Sajonas was the celebrant and the cross bearer was Jason Delisle. Music was by Brenda Hanson who played by the congregational hymns The Old Rugged Cross, Prayer of St. Francis and Church In the Wildwood. A duet was sung by Hank Delisle and Vi Samiroden called Silver Haired Daddy. The eulogy was read by Charlene Scrimshaw and honorary pall bearers were all relatives and friends who shared in Raymond's life. The active pall bearers were Wes Delisle, Wayne Delisle, Ricki Delisle, Corey Delisle, Calvin Delisle and Waylon Delisle. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Cremation followed the service and Ray will be laid to rest at a later date in the Big River Cemetery.
