Obituary of Randy Bradley
Randy Bradley
July 2, 1946 - December 21, 2017
Randall (Randy) Richard Bradley was born July 2, 1946 in Prince Albert, SK and passed away Dec. 21, 2017 at Delorande Lake, SK he was 71 years of age. Youngest son of Louis and Viola Bradley. He spent most of his life living in Big River, SK except for a short period of time when the family moved to Flin Flon, MB where he started school. School was not his thing and at 16 he began to work. He worked for Tommy and Patricia Michel at their outfitting camp, Jesse Leverton as a farm hand and eventually the Big River Mill where he worked for 42 years. For a short time, while the mill was closed, he worked for John Dunn as a catskinner.
On November 27, 1970 Randy met Darlene Freda Colby on the blind date that never ended. They were engaged on May 18, 1971 and married July 31, 1971. Their daughters, Tracy Elaine was born on June 5, 1973 and Melanie Viola was born August 10, 1980.
Soon came grandkids Levi John Bradley (1991), Quinton Ian Randall Bradley-Doucette (1995), Mina Viola Katherine Baynes (2009) and Emmett Randall James Baynes (2017).
Their years together were spent travelling on the chuck wagon circuit, trail riding, roping, camping, dancing, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, jeeping, quadding and spending time on the house boat that him and Darlene built together.
Randy was a quiet spoken man of little words, not much for small talk.
He could fix or weld almost anything you wanted. He was always gathering up things that others had discarded to turn into some other invention down the road. He made many handy things from scratch and was always coming up with ways to make jobs easier which is why his friends bought him the "Handy Randy" license plate. He took up wood working in his retirement years making countless game boards, shoe horns, BBQ cleaner sticks, a doll cradle, wagon/sleigh replicas, vegetable bins, craft box, etc.
Randy loved to indulge on black licorice, cashews, chocolate & Wisers Whiskey. He died a fisherman but was always a cowboy.
Randy is lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Darlene. His daughters: Tracy (Harold) and their children Levi, Quinton, Nelson, Drew, Cam and Dani, Melanie (Jonathan) and their children Mina and Emmett, his sisters: Grace Verge of Radium (BC), Hazel Anderson of Edmonton (AB), sisters in law: Audrey (Wendell) Hiltz of Big River, SK -Barb Bradley of Big River, SK also numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
