Having known Greg for many years as kids, it was natural for us to coach hockey together, which we did for 5 years. I witnessed someone who always put the kids first and helped them in their times of turmoil. Coaching 16-17 year olds isn't easy to get them on track with the program, but Greg was always able to move them in the right direction. Being the head coach, I was under pressure from parents and minor hockey for decisions I made, but the one constant was the unwavering support of my friend. Greg was loyal to a fault and I respected him for this quality. The last time I shared with Greg, we laughed about the days we coached together and some of the antics we found ourselves in. He never complained about the situation he found himself in, it was about us remembering the good times and being family. RIP my friend.
