In 1954 she married Ed Ouellette and they farmed at Little Shell for a couple of years. They moved to 100 Mile House, BC, but came back and bought a farm north of Shell Lake. Dorothy enjoyed dancing, visiting, gardening, knitting and quilting. Dorothy's health took a turn for the worse and she spent time in Shellbrook and Spiritwood Hospitals until her passing. Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her husband Ed Ouellette of Shell Lake, SK; her son Ed (Dolores) Watier of Shell Lake, SK; her brothers James Stephenson of Rabbit Lake, SK and Ralph (Pearl) Stephenson of Shell Lake, SK as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends. The music director was Bill Martodam who played the hymns In The Garden and Amazing Grace. There also was a soloist, Wilford Ledoux, who sang Dear Mother Goodbye and Precious Auntie Take My Hand. All relatives and friends who shared in Dorothy's life were the honorary pall bearers and the urn bearer was Pat Johnstone.
