Obituary of Arsen Charles Villeneuve

It is with deep regret that the family of Arsen Villeneuve announces his sudden passing on March 19, 2009 at the age of 44 years in the loving care of his family. Arsen made a commitment to the Lord, and we now know he is in his arms. Arsen was born on August 7, 1963 at the Big River Hospital and spent his childhood in Big River. After leaving high school, Arsen traveled to numerous cities trying to find his place in life. He later settled in Saskatoon and received several diplomas including those in native studies, youth work, hairdressing and criminal law. Arsen will always be remembered as an avid hunter and trapper, artist and cook. He had a giving heart and gave what little he had to anyone who needed it. He loved spending time with his family. Arsen is lovingly remembered by his parents Ernie and Angeline Montgrand; his brothers and sisters Linda (Michael) Beebe and their children Crystal, Joshua, Jonas and David; Marlene (David) Krawetz and their children Malinda, Brandon and Timothy; Ernest Montgrand and Roger Montgrand as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Catherine Villeneuve and Joseph Dumais, Jonas and Margarette Montgrand; his uncles Edward, John and Joseph Villeneuve; his aunts Cecile Caplette and Marcelin Montgrand and his good friend Rev. Hallidie-Smith. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 26th, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Evangelical Free Church in Big River, SK with officiants Rev. Jake McCrea and Pastor Raymond Dumais. The hymns were What A Friend We Have In Jesus, Precious Jesus Hold My Hand and Amazing Grace.
