Obituary of Albert Norman Anderson

Albert Anderson passed away on March 21, 2008 after a short illness. He has now gone to join our Mom, Gertie Anderson. Albert was the oldest of thirteen children to parents Frank and Tina Anderson. Albert is lovingly remembered by his children Rodney Anderson of Big River, SK, Ken Anderson of Leask, SK, Wayne (Dana) Anderson of Saskatoon, SK, Barry (Carol) Anderson of Saskatoon, SK, Marge (Gary) Steel of Big River, SK, Terry (Shirley) Anderson of Duck Lake, SK, Shirley Nelson of Duck Lake, SK and Peggy (Ron) Gerard of Saskatoon, SK; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; his brother Dennis Anderson; his sisters Myrtle Caharel and Vivian Beebe; his sisters in-law Ella Anderson and Doris Mitchell; his brothers in-law Art Hodgson, Clarence Beebe and Raymond Mitchell, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Gertie in 1990, his parents Frank and Tina Anderson, his brothers Harry, Wilfred, Art, Doug and Frankie, his sisters Jean, Jessie, Mildred and Grace, his brothers in-law Henry Caharel, Hercules LaPlante and Roy Gunderson, his sisters in-law Florence McGrath, Lizette Anderson and Alweiba Anderson. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 at 1 p.m. from the Big River Community Hall with Rev. Brian Maitland officiating. Allan Hodgson read the eulogy and the soloist was Bill Martodam who sang Church In The Wildwood, Just A Closer Walk With Thee and Sweet By And By. The honorary pall bearers were his grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he cherished so dearly and the active pall bearers were Larry LaPlante, Wilson LaPlante, Gordon Gunderson, Quinton Wingerter, Garry Anderson and Bill Piche. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Big River Cemetery or the donor's choice. Albert was laid to rest in the Big River Cemetery.
