Obituary of Doug Pitceathly

Doug Pitceathly October 13, 1939 - July 1, 2018 Doug was born Oct. 13, 1939 at Shellbrook, SK and passed away July 1, 2018 at Spiritwood, SK, he was 78 years of age. Doug is lovingly remembered by: his wife, Doris Pitceathly, son, Brian (Heather) Pitceathly, daughter, Lori Pitceathly, grandchildren: Shane Pitceathly, Brenda Pitceathly, Elmer (Khrystina) Gamble, Ian (Chasity) Gamble, Amy (Brooke) Gamble, great grandchild, Nina Gamble, sister, Margaret Hotvedt also numerous nieces, nephews and their families and Doug’s special friend, Shirley R. Gamble. He is predeceased by: parents, George and Dorothy Pitceathly, parents-in-law, Andrew and Edith Proulx, nephew, Larry Proulx, brothers-in-law, Dave Hotvedt, Richard Creed and close friends, Art Gamble, Henry Chaykowski. The funeral service was held Friday, July 6, 2018 at 11:00 am from the Lions Community Hall, Shell Lake, SK with Delores Beaulac officiating. Music was provided by Gilles Francoeur, readings were read by Jeff Proulx and Ray Proulx Jr. the eulogy was given by Heather Pitceathly. Honorary Pallbearers were considered “All those who shared in Doug’s life” the urn bearer was Doug’s loving wife Doris Pitceathly. His final resting place is at the Mildred North Cemetery. Following the funeral service, the family invited all those in attendance to join them for lunch and fellowship in the hall. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Telemiricle in memory of Doug Pitceathly as tokens of remembrance.
