Obituary of Kenneth Manvill Ness

Kenneth Manvill Ness passed away April 1, 2008 in Shellbrook Hospital at the age of 77 years. Ken grew up near Broderick and later moved to the Outlook area where he spent his youth and early adult years working on the family farm. As an adult, he worked at various automotive and construction businesses and always enjoyed helping farm with his brothers. Later in life Ken settled in Shell Lake with Shirley Caulder. Ken and Shirley worked in the community and enjoyed gardening in their retirement years. Left to mourn Ken's passing are his children Pam Ness (Brent Walker) of Victoria, BC, Kevin (Linda) Ness of Saskatoon, SK and their children Caroline and Lauren; Deirdra Ness (John Lagimodiere) of Saskatoon, SK and her children Riel and Willow; his sisters in-law Maureen Ness of Canwood, SK and Frances Ness of Saskatoon, SK as well as other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley Caulder, his parents Selmer and Matilda Ness and his brothers Lloyd and Marvin Ness. The funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Partners in Worship Church in Shell Lake with Rev. David Jensen officiating. The soloist was Bill Martodam who sang Beautiful Isle of Somewhere and led the congregational hymns Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art. Honorary pall bearers were all relatives and friends who shared in Ken's life and the urn bearers were his children Pam, Kevin and Deirdra Ness. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Rose Gill Lodge at Box 157, Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan S0M 2L0. Ken was laid to rest in the Shell Lake Cemetery.
