Obituary of Edwin DALEY

DALEY- Mr. Edwin Daley, age 97, late of Shellbrook, passed away in the Shellbrook hospital on Friday, April 11, 2008. Edwin was born October 30, 1910 in the Ordale district, and was baptized and confirmed in the Concordia Lutheran Church. Edwin worked at different jobs when he was young. When both parents had passed away, Edwin and his two sisters took over the farm, where they raised cattle, pigs and milked cows. The Daley's were a musical family, and had a band of their own. Edwin played violin, his brother George played accordion, and his sisters played guitar and mandolin. They spent many evenings at home playing and singing, as well as at parties and dances. Edwin enjoyed going to farm auctions and rodeo's, and liked watching hockey on TV. Edwin and his sister Tilda moved to Homestead Place in 1998. Edwin was a quiet and private person. He didn't do much visiting but really enjoyed people coming to visit him. Edwin didn't go to Church much, but listened to the Christian radio programs and was a supporter of the Billy Graham Ministries. Edwin had a good long life and is now re-united with the rest of his family. Edwin is lovingly remembered by his cousins, Beatrice Lande of Shellbrook, Todd (Darcy) Lande of Shellbrook, Diane (Bill) Aug of Shellbrook, as well as several other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his sisters Tilda and Bergine; his brothers Gust, George and Goodman and his parents Ingeborg and Sjallov Daley. The funeral service was held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Shellbrook on Friday, April 18 at 11:00 AM with pastor Doug Schmirler as officiant. The organist was Joanne Perkins.
