Obituary of Mary Tomiak
Ms. Mary Tomiak passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Mont St. Joseph Home in Prince Albert, SK.
Mary was the 2nd eldest child born to George and Mary Tomiak at Bonne Madone, SK. She helped her parents with many difficult chores at the farm. After attending school until Grade 10, she decided an easier life could be had. She attended business college in Prince Albert, then obtained employment with McGavin Bakery and Acklands for most of her lifetime. An unfortunate hip fracture forced an early retirement. Sewing, crocheting, and attending many Raider hockey games became her pastimes. She also enjoyed travelling to California, Florida, Hawaii and Southern Spain, and visits to Depew, USA where her older sister lived. Mary was kind, often helping her mother and sisters with painting and redecorating throughout her life. She lived the last 6+ years (2 in Nelson Home and 4 ½ at Mont St Joseph) due to the effects of Alzheimers and dementia.
Mary is survived by her siblings, Peter (Helen) Tomiak and Olga (Orest) Oranchuk; nieces and nephews, Pat (Brian) Thompson, Carla (Glen) Roth, James Prytula, Randy (Laurie) Tomiak, Laurie (Darrel) Nyirfa; numerous great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Mary Tomiak; siblings, Annette (Angus) McLeod and Vicky (Victor) Prytula.
We love you Mary, and will miss you.
