Obituary of Albert Franklin Markus
The family of Albert Markus are deeply saddened to announce Albert's passing on April 22, 2008 at the age of 78 years. Albert was born to John Markus Sr. and Mary Markus on the family farm near Spiritwood on March 5, 1930. Albert farmed in the Spiritwood area as well as the Peace River country. He was a man of the world, but always came back to Spiritwood. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Albert leaves to mourn his sister Mary (Allison) "Duke" Fall of St. Paul, AB; his nieces and nephews Sharon Perkins of Ottawa, ON, Judy (Bob) Woodward of Ladner, BC, Michael (Terri) Breen of Lindbergh, AB and Patrick (Carol) Breen of Okotoks, AB as well as many great nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his parents John (Mary) Markus Sr., his brother John Jr., and his grandparents Frank (Anna) Markus as well as other relatives in Hungary. The memorial service was held on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Sacred Heart RC Church in Spiritwood with Rev. Fr. Paul De Guzman officiating. Music directors were Duke Fall and Bill Martodam and Boris Sidoruk read the eulogy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Spiritwood Health Complex Foundation-Activity Department. Albert was laid to rest in the Spiritwood Cemetery.
